Description
Beginning with a block of seasoned wood you will use traditional carving tools to incise your design – we’ll encourage and inspire you to explore texture, grain & pattern.
It’s the first time I’ve been this excited for a long time!
Once the block is cut, you will ink the image and hand-burnish a print, using a light touch or a heavy hand to alter the quality and depth of the image.
Make as many different prints as you like during the day, or spend time crafting and improving one perfect image – the beauty of this technique lies in the fact that after the block is cut you can take countless impressions – carry on printing when you get home.
Whether or not you have a design in mind alreadythere will be plenty of inpiration at the workshop to get you started. In contrast to linocut, the wood plays a part in how the final print turns out, the flow and texture of growth and grain lending an unpredicable and exciting hand… You will make something wonderful!
The class cost of £85 includes all tools, materials, ample tea, coffee and freshly baked snacks.
