Make a Stool in a day

Join us for an exciting day to explore traditional tools & skills, learn to understand the natural strength of cleft green wood take the chance to make a functional piece of furniture to take home.

Using freshly felled trees from the city, you’ll discover the techniques of slab and stick furniture making. Working completely by hand, with axe, drawknife, spokeshave, planes, brace & augers, we’ll guide you through the process, right from cleaving the living tree into legs, carving the seat & carefully shaping the flowing curves of a unique, beautiful & sturdy stool. You’ll be ready to sit down by the end of it all!

Course cost – £75, including all tools, materials, tea, coffee and something sweet.
